Hi everybody.

As mentioned in last weeks email, we want to start utilizing
our website, http://www.gcriverroad.com/,
far more than we have in the past. The goal is to have it be the first place
you think to look when you wonder something about church life. All weekly
announcement emails are now being posted there under ANNOUNCEMENTS so you can refer
to them later. We will also be utilizing the EVENTS section of our website. The
information will be populated into both a calendar view and a list view; they
will have identical information so you only need to look at whichever format
you prefer. Prayer requests should also now be made via the “Prayer Wall” under
ANNOUNCEMENTS; more details on that below.

REMINDERS:

If you shop on Amazon and haven’t already setup your
preferred shopping method (app or website) to automatically make donations to GCI
Eugene or GCI Salem, please refer to the Amazon-Smile document attached at the
end of last week’s announcement post on the webpage for instruction on how to
do it. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

There are separate numbers for text to give for each
congregation; Eugene is 1-458-209-2209, Salem is 1-971-273-5588. If you need
help getting set up to donate via text, see someone on the advisory team &
we would be happy to help you.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

If you have a request to make on Sunday during service,
please fill out one of the prayer slips and put it into the collection basket. If
you did not check the “Confidential” box on the slip, your prayer will be
shared during the Praise & Prayer section of the service and will be posted
to the Prayer Wall on our website. (If you would like the prayer to be shared
during service but not be posted on-line, please add a note of “do not post” or
something to that effect on the slip.)

If you have a prayer request to share any other time of the
week, please add the prayer to the Prayer
Wall on our website (under ANNOUNCEMENTS). Currently the button to click to
add a prayer shows as only a gold rectangle above the prayer list; then you
hold your mouse pointer over the rectangle, the words “Share your Request or
Praise” appear. (We will work on getting this updated so the words are always there.)
To add a prayer, click on this button, fill out the form and then click “Submit
Request” at the bottom.

To be notified when a new prayer has been posted to the Prayer
Wall, click “Get alerts when new prayers post,” enter your email address and
click Subscribe. After you’ve prayed for a request, you can click the “I prayed
for this” button. If the person who entered that request selected the option
for notifications, they will receive an email stating that their request has
been prayed for. Regardless of whether that option was selected at the time the
prayer was entered, a count will be added to the prayer stating how many times
it has been prayed for.
